ART AND ITS IMPACT ON
THE LIFE OF VETERANS

For a long time, researchers have been interested in the relationship between the human mind and art. In 2013, researchers from Newcastle University reported that looking at contemporary visual art had positive effects on the personal lives of elders living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

A survey of Veterans’ medical centers showed that more than half of them offered patients artwork right by their bedside; 40% have permanent art collections, rotating art exhibitions, and sculptures.

Pictures and other artwork for healthcare facilities have a way of affecting people’s moods. This is why cafes and coffee houses usually have bright-colored paintings. Hospitals, assisted living homes, and nursing homes are now banking on the healing power of art to lift people’s moods by putting calm, beautiful, and positive images in their minds.

Choosing art for Veteran’s Homes

1. We help you make strategic decisions

We help you carefully consider your aesthetic and style preferences, sizes and scales, and your budget range. We will only find art they know you will love and that will resonate well with you. We will help you find the best artwork for each setting, thus using the healing power of art to make your Veteran’s Home more spirited.

2. We understand how to use art to design a facility

We know how to incorporate art into a room’s design. This is why we are an invaluable addition to your Veteran’s Home design team. We will help give your rooms ambiance, creating an environment you envisioned.

4. We facilitate commissions for you

We’re well integrated into the world of art. Through our experience, background, business ventures, and professional connections, we draw from a range of commissioning artists to create original art for you. This will help you get precisely the kind of artwork you want for the walls of your facility.

A Message From Our Founder, Alisha Capobianco

My name is Alisha Capobianco and I am the President and lead art director at Creative A, LLC. I have been working in the art consulting and fabrication community since 2009. My mother, whom previously owned an art consulting business, has taught me everything I needed to begin my own journey in art consulting. She is my greatest mentor, supporter, and most importantly mother. Her best piece of advice to me in regards to owning my own business, is to always evolve with the times and with the people. So with that advice I took the challenge of evolving artwork programs that graze the walls in Senior Living Communities.

I studied Interior Design at Parsons, School of Design in NYC, which had given me a basis of interior architecture and learn how to work in tandem with other trades(furniture, fabrics, contractors, etc). Living in New York City in my early 20s has greatly impacted my design direction and has assisted me in staying up to date with the latest trends, finishes, and subject matters.

Our Senior living focus has greatly increased over the past 2 years, seeing a major need in assistance in updating these artwork packages in renovations and new builds. Senior living design does not need to be boring or dated and I really am working toward changing that narrative for students studying design and my employees. There is so much opportunity to make Senior Living design special and I am happy to be apart of that journey.
